Useful for me, I'm playing a ranger through the three PvE campaigns now.

I'm looking forward to it too I could use the extra skill points as I've been spending them like crazy lately.

This weekend event is good for people that are going for their survivor title track. Otherwise, its just good XP.

QFT - I'm delighted by the double XP weekend. Now I only need to capture 56 (or so) elites to get Legendary Survivor on my Monk as opposed to 112!

I'm pretty happy for this event. I'm in the process of going for all the skill capping titles, and the extra XP will be more than welcome (since I'm probably going to go for a PvE UAS shortly after that). The extra Skill Points will be *quite* welcome, even though I've already obtained over 200.

Actually, we're not likely to news post on the website for most weekend "themes." We will update on the website, or through other means, for some events, like the recent mini-birthday celebration. But for most weekends, you can find your news on the log-in screen.

I laugh every time they put this event up, because it usually happens just a few weeks after I've gotten every every elite. Happend in Factions, no in NF. But I'm glad this is something most of my alliance won't take part in, we've been trying to do DoA, Urgoz, or the Deep for weeks now but either we get double fame, have something to farm, ect. ect.

You're right about that. It's "play Spider Man on the 360" weekend.

I think a lot of people forget that new people come into the game all the time and it does mean something to them. Guild Wars isn't just for those who have played it since the beginning, besides if you need special events to play maybe it's time to find another game.

I would have agreed with you except I wanted to get all the monk skills on my Ritualist and ran out of skill points after using 211. I have to do a lot of XP farming in order to complete the monk set.

I personally hate that you don't post em on the official site. I almost never check the login screen, as I use auto-login. I check the official page much more often than the login screen announcements thus.

So yeah, boo for not posting them on the official site

Instead of having it 2 weekends in row why didn't they have a week long event for us weekend workers?

Would be far more useful an event if there was some way of using skill points othere than buying skills, once they are unlocked your character has no need for xp or skill points

This is not to say that i have unlocked everythign on every character, I'm just thinking of those that have done that, or don't wish to unlock every skill, as its awfully expensive already, just to capture all the elites it must be nigh on 300k
